Head of School - Thomas Kim
Thomas is the Founder and Head of School for The Geneva Preschool with a heart for children to experience academic and spiritual fruitfulness. After receiving his Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign, Thomas Kim spent 7 years as a teacher and administrator for the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) before spending 11 years running his Wealth Management Advisory practice. His passion for education has brought him back to the educational world, trying to empower parents and students to reach their full potential. After successfully assisting all three of his own sons to gain admission to Selective Enrollment CPS Schools, Thomas saw a need for academic excellence in a Christ-centered environment.
When Thomas is not at the school, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, golfing, running, and playing bass on the worship team. Thomas is married to his wife, Grace, has four children and an adopted Australian Cattle Dog mix, Sydney.
Welcome to The Geneva Preschool (TGP), where young minds blossom in a nurturing and enriching environment.
At TGP, we are dedicated to providing a holistic educational experience that nurtures the hearts, minds, and spirits of our young learners. With a focus on academic excellence, language immersion, Montessori-inspired learning, and faith-based values, we offer a unique educational journey that prepares children for success in school and beyond.
Our academic-focused curriculum is designed to spark curiosity, inspire creativity, and cultivate a love for learning in every child. Through hands-on activities, inquiry-based learning, and individualized instruction, we empower students to explore, discover, and excel academically.
As a language-immersive preschool, we are proud to offer a Spanish-language immersion program that provides children with the opportunity to develop fluency in both English and Spanish. Our bilingual approach not only enhances cognitive development but also promotes cultural understanding and appreciation.
Inspired by the Montessori philosophy, our classrooms are thoughtfully designed to foster independence, self-discovery, and a lifelong love of learning. With a focus on hands-on exploration, multi-sensory experiences, and student-led inquiry, we create an environment where children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
At TGP, faith is at the heart of everything we do. Rooted in Christian values, we strive to instill in our students a strong moral foundation, compassion for others, and a deep sense of purpose. Through prayer, Bible stories, and age-appropriate lessons, we nurture spiritual growth and character development in a loving and supportive community.
Safety is our top priority at TGP. Our dedicated staff undergo rigorous training and adhere to strict safety protocols to ensure the well-being of every child in our care. From secure facilities to certified teachers, we provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow with confidence.
With a maximum capacity of 67 students, we maintain small class sizes to ensure personalized attention and individualized support for each child. Our low student-to-teacher ratio allows us to tailor instruction to meet the needs and interests of every student, fostering a sense of belonging and academic success.
At TGP, we are committed to partnering with families to provide the highest quality education and care for our students. Together, we cultivate a community where children thrive academically, socially, and spiritually, laying the foundation for a lifetime of learning and growth.
Come join us at The Geneva Preschool, where every child is valued, cherished, and empowered to reach their full potential!
